Aluminium Chlorohydrate (ACH) Supplier, Exporter & Global Wholesaler
PAU Chemicals is an India-based global supplier and exporter of Aluminium Chlorohydrate (ACH) in 50% liquid, for water treatment, antiperspirant and industrial buyers worldwide.
Aluminium Chlorohydrate is a high-basicity inorganic polymer coagulant that has largely replaced conventional alum in demanding water treatment work. Because it is pre-hydrolysed, it coagulates across a wide pH range while consuming far less alkalinity.
In practice that means lower lime dosing, less sludge to dispose of, and a more stable treated-water pH — which is why plants under tight sludge or alkalinity constraints move to ACH.
PAU Chemicals supplies both the 50% liquid solution and spray-dried powder, with low iron and low insolubles for applications where clarity and purity are not negotiable.
Pro Tip: Never store ACH liquid in mild steel or aluminium tanks. Use HDPE, FRP or rubber-lined storage, and keep powder sealed — it is hygroscopic and cakes in humid conditions.

What is ACH, and what is it called locally?
ACH stands for Aluminium Chlorohydrate, also written aluminium chlorohydrol. In water treatment it is grouped with the polyaluminium coagulants and often compared directly against PAC and alum.
What is ACH used for?
Mainly as a coagulant in drinking water and wastewater treatment. It is also the active astringent in antiperspirants, and is used in paper sizing, ceramics and textile effluent treatment.
How does ACH compare with alum?
ACH is pre-hydrolysed and highly basic, so it needs a lower dose, consumes far less alkalinity, works across a wider pH range and produces substantially less sludge. Chemical cost per kilogram is higher, but total treatment cost is usually lower.
Should I use liquid or powder?
Liquid doses directly into the treatment line with no dissolution step. Powder suits limited storage space, long freight distances and longer shelf life.
What dosage should I apply?
It depends on raw water turbidity, alkalinity and pH, and should be set by jar testing. Typical potable water dosing sits in a low-ppm range, well below equivalent alum dosing.
Is your ACH suitable for antiperspirant manufacture?
A cosmetic / USP grade with tighter iron and heavy-metal limits is supplied for personal care use, with the corresponding documentation. Confirm the grade at the time of enquiry.
How should it be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Liquid between 5 and 35 °C in HDPE, FRP or rubber-lined tanks — never mild steel or aluminium. Powder sealed and dry. Around 12 months for liquid and 24 months for powder.
Which ports and Incoterms do you ship on, and how long does delivery take?
We load from Hazira and Nhava Sheva on EXW, FOB, C&F and CIF terms, typically 3 to 4 weeks. ACH ships as general cargo.
