Soda Ash Light Supplier, Exporter & Global Wholesaler
PAU Chemicals is an India-based global supplier and exporter of Soda Ash Light at 99.2% minimum, for detergent, glass, textile, water treatment and chemical manufacturers worldwide.
Soda Ash is one of the highest-volume industrial chemicals in world trade, and the light grade is defined by its lower bulk density — which makes it dissolve faster and blend more readily than the dense grade.
PAU Chemicals supplies 99.2% minimum material with low chloride and iron, packed in lined bags to prevent the moisture pickup and caking that plague this product in humid conditions.
Light and dense soda ash are chemically identical but not interchangeable in practice. Light dissolves faster and suits detergent blending; dense flows better and suits glass batching. Specify which you need — substituting causes handling problems.

What is Soda Ash, and what is it called locally?
It is sodium carbonate, called soda ash in industry and washing soda in its hydrated consumer form. Light and dense refer to bulk density, not purity.
What is it used for?
Detergent and soap manufacture, glass making, textile scouring and dyeing, water treatment, pulp and paper, and as feedstock for sodium silicate and other sodium chemicals.
What is the difference between light and dense grade?
Chemically identical, but light has lower bulk density and dissolves faster, suiting detergent blending. Dense flows and handles better in bulk, suiting glass batching.
Can I substitute one for the other?
Not without handling consequences. Dosing systems calibrated for one bulk density will misfeed with the other, and dissolution rates differ noticeably.
How is it different from caustic soda?
Soda ash is a milder alkali, safer to handle and less aggressive on materials. Caustic soda is far stronger and corrosive. Choose soda ash where moderate alkalinity is sufficient.
Do you supply food grade?
Food grade meeting E500(i) requirements is available on request and must be specified at enquiry — technical grade must not be used in food.
How should it be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Sealed, lined bags in a dry, covered store. It absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air, which causes caking and slowly converts it to bicarbonate.
Which ports and Incoterms do you ship on, and how long does delivery take?
Hazira and Nhava Sheva on EXW, FOB, C&F and CIF terms, typically 3 to 4 weeks, shipping as general cargo. Export MOQ is 1 FCL.
