Sodium Bicarbonate Supplier, Exporter & Global Wholesaler
PAU Chemicals is an India-based global supplier and exporter of Sodium Bicarbonate in food, pharmaceutical, feed and technical grades, for bakeries, pharma, feed millers and industrial buyers worldwide.
Sodium Bicarbonate — baking soda — is one of the most versatile chemicals in trade. It leavens, buffers, neutralises acid, absorbs odour and scrubs flue gas, and it does all of it while remaining safe enough to eat.
PAU Chemicals supplies food, USP/BP, feed and technical grades in a range of particle sizes, since mesh selection materially affects dissolution rate and reaction speed in baking.
PAU Chemicals supplies FCC and BP grade in powder and granular form, with assay, moisture and heavy metals documented per batch.
Particle size matters more than most buyers expect. Fine grades dissolve and react fast for immediate leavening; coarse grades react slower and suit delayed-action systems. Specify mesh, not just grade.

What is Sodium Bicarbonate, and what is it called locally?
It is NaHCO₃, universally known as baking soda and listed as E500(ii). In Indian markets it is commonly called meetha soda or khane ka soda.
What is it used for?
Baking and leavening, baking powder manufacture, antacids and haemodialysis, animal feed buffering, flue gas scrubbing, fire extinguisher powder and cleaning products.
How is it different from soda ash?
Soda ash is sodium carbonate, a much stronger alkali used industrially. Sodium bicarbonate is milder, food safe and releases carbon dioxide on heating or acid contact, which is what leavens baked goods.
Which mesh size should I order?
Fine grades dissolve and react quickly for immediate leavening; coarse grades react slower for delayed-action systems. Specify mesh alongside grade at the time of enquiry.
Do you supply pharmaceutical grade?
Yes, to USP and BP for antacid and haemodialysis applications, documented separately from food, feed and technical grades.
Can it be used in animal feed?
Yes. Feed grade is widely used as a rumen buffer in dairy cattle. It must be specified as feed grade — technical grade is not suitable.
How should it be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Sealed, lined bags in a cool, dry place away from acids and moisture. It slowly converts to sodium carbonate in warm, humid storage, which reduces leavening power.
Which ports and Incoterms do you ship on, and how long does delivery take?
Hazira and Nhava Sheva on EXW, FOB, C&F and CIF terms, typically 3 to 4 weeks, shipping as general cargo. Export MOQ is 1 FCL.
