Maltodextrin Supplier, Exporter & Global Wholesaler
PAU Chemicals is an India-based global supplier and exporter of Maltodextrin for beverage, dairy, nutrition and flavour encapsulation manufacturers worldwide.
Maltodextrin is a partially hydrolysed starch that occupies a useful middle ground: it dissolves readily, carries flavours and actives, adds bulk and body, but contributes very little sweetness. That combination is why it appears in almost every instant powder on the market.
PAU Chemicals supplies DE 10, 15 and 20 grades with DE value, solubility and moisture documented per batch, so spray-drying and blending performance is predictable across shipments.
Lower DE gives better encapsulation and film formation; higher DE gives faster dissolution and slightly more sweetness. For flavour encapsulation, DE 10 usually outperforms DE 20 even though it costs about the same.

What is Maltodextrin, and what is it called locally?
It is a partially hydrolysed starch powder, usually called simply maltodextrin and identified by its DE number.
What is it used for?
Instant drink powders, flavour encapsulation, sports nutrition, infant formula, dairy powders, soups and sauces, and as a spray-drying carrier for actives.
What does DE mean, and which grade should I choose?
DE is Dextrose Equivalent, the degree of hydrolysis. Lower DE gives better encapsulation and film formation; higher DE dissolves faster and tastes slightly sweeter.
Is it sweet?
Only mildly. That is precisely why it is used — it adds bulk, body and carrying capacity without materially changing the sweetness profile of the product.
Why is it used as a carrier in spray drying?
It forms a protective film around volatile flavours and oxidation-sensitive actives, which preserves them through drying and in storage. DE 10 generally encapsulates better than DE 20.
Can it be used in infant formula?
It is widely used in infant nutrition, but the applicable specification and microbiological limits are stricter. Confirm the requirement in your destination market and specify it at enquiry.
How should it be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Sealed, lined bags in a cool, dry place. It is hygroscopic and cakes in humid storage, which affects flow and dosing.
Which ports and Incoterms do you ship on, and how long does delivery take?
Hazira and Nhava Sheva on EXW, FOB, C&F and CIF terms, typically 3 to 4 weeks, shipping as general cargo. Export MOQ is 1 FCL.
